Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

This procedure aims to shape and reduce the size of the upper arms. It addresses excess skin and fat in the commonly known ‘bingo wing’ region.

Brachioplasty, which can be combined with liposuction is usually performed under general anesthetic. The aim is to reduce the circumference of the upper arms, to improve the overall contour, and tighten the skin for a more youthful appearance. Incisions and scars vary in size, depending on the amount of excess tissue in the area. For minimal excess, a mini arm lift might be appropriate, where the scar is placed and hidden in the armpit. In more advanced cases, there might be a scar that extends from just above the elbow and sometimes onto the side of the chest. It is important to discuss these individual options in person and make a bespoke plan of treatment. The use of drains might also be needed and a compression garment has to be worn after the procedure for approximately 6 weeks. The treatment usually requires one night in hospital and is suitable for both men and women.
