Asymmetry Correction

There are a number of developmental conditions such as tuberous breast deformity, that can create large differences between the two breasts. Just like revisional surgery, these require bespoke planning if surgery is to be considered.

An element of developmental asymmetry/difference between the two breasts is normal and very common. There are however instances where the difference can be very pronounced, because of under/overdevelopment or in conditions such as tuberous breasts.

The latter is characterized by an imbalance in overall development, resulting in breasts that are conical in shape, with tight lower pole skin and large prominent nipple-areolar complexes.

These conditions require a bespoke approach for correction and a detailed assessment and discussion is required. One or a combination of techniques may be required for correction, depending on the severity of the asymmetry/maldevelopment and your personal wishes.

These may range from simple fat grafting to a full uplift with implants in cases of severe tuberous breast development. There are also instances where corrections will need to be staged for an optimum outcome.
