Reduction

This procedure not only improves the aesthetics of the breast, giving you a more youthful and lifted appearance, it also has the physical health benefit of reducing the strain to your upper body.

Bilateral breast reduction (BBR) is an operation with both a cosmetic and a functional component. By reducing and at the same time lifting the breast, you not only achieve a more youthful appearance, but also lighten the upper body. As a consequence, symptoms like back and neck ache, deep bra strap marks and skin conditions under the breast, usually improve.

As the nipple areolar complex (NAC) in this procedure is usually moved to a more youthful position, a BBR involves scars on the breast. The scars go around the nipple and straight down (lollipop) and sometimes also across the bottom of the breast (inverted T, anchor shaped).

Despite this, the overall satisfaction rate of this surgery is very high amongst patients.
